9th Art Rock Show: Last – Frequency Drift Special

Deze week een special rond de Duitse band Frequency Drift. De band werd gevormd in 2006 toen enkele muzikanten uit Beieren bij elkaar kwamen om een nieuwe en unieke muziekstijl te creëerden. Na zeven prachtalbums moeten we vaststellen dat Frequency Drift volledig in haar opdracht is geslaagd!

Rinco Ennema van ProgPraat: “Andreas Hack (keyboards, gitaar, theremin), Nerissa Schwarz (e-harp, mellotron), Wolfgang Ostermann (drums), Melanie Mau (zang), Martin Schnella (elektrische- en akoestische gitaar) en Rainer Wolf (bas) weigeren zich duidelijk te houden aan de gebruikelijke ingrediënten die in deze stijl worden verwerkt. Er wordt geëxperimenteerd met geluiden om een filmische emotie te bewerkstelligen en de band komt ermee weg ook. De elektrische harp speelt vaak samen met de theremin en mellotron een hoofdrol wat zorgt voor bijzonder interessante arrangementen.… Read more...
