Jos Driessen van Prog Wereld: “Het geheim van de kok zit hem in de bereidingstijd. Ook nu moesten we vier jaar wachten op een nieuw baksel met als toefje op de taart stukjes van het 5e element. Dus naast aarde, water, lucht en vuur mogen we nu ook de verbintenis daartussen ontdekken. Het is pure magie! Voor de rest is er niets veranderd, want waarom zou een bakker zijn goed lopende zoetigheden vervangen voor experimentele kunsten.

Art Rock Show – Shehili (Week 34)

Deze week stellen we metalband Myrath aan u voor. De muziek van de groep wordt wel eens omschreven als oriental metal, een stijl gebaseerd op de basiselementen van hardrock &metal aangevuld met typische oosterse melodielijnen.

Recensie op Zwaremetalen.com: “Shehili is wederom een enorme stap voorwaarts voor Myrath, een groep wiens ontstaan – ruim vijftien jaar geleden – begon als coverband waar uitsluitend Symphony X-nummers de setlist sierden. Die invloeden horen we – naast vlagen Kamelot, Muse en System Of A Down – nog geregeld terug in de muziek. Maar laat nu net dit soort culturele overheersing aan de basis liggen van het verfrissende geluid.

Het leidt zelfs ontegensprekelijk tot memorabele songs. Neem nu bijvoorbeeld You’ve Lost Yourself, Dance of Monster In My Closet: stuk voor stuk nummers welke niet alleen beschikken over een energieke en positieve vibe, maar ook heel veel kracht herbergen dankzij de vaak meezingbare refreinen.… Read more...
