Hex is het achtste studioalbum van de Spaanse postrock band Toundra. Het album Hex is een terugblik op wat de wereldwijde coronacrisis bij de band heeft opgeroepen.

Zware Metalen.com review: “Het album start met El Odio, wat Spaans is voor haat. El Odio is een 22 minuten durend nummer, opgedeeld in drie stukken. Het nummer is een weergave van de gedachten en gevoelens van gitarist Esteban Girón die hij kreeg na het regelmatig zien van gewelddadige uitspattingen in de wereld, vaak geuit naar de meest kwetsbaren in de samenleving. Girón refereert aan een video waarop een groep mensen een balkon op klimt om er een regenboogvlag van af te scheuren en vervolgens in brand te steken. Psychedelic, heavy, prog and more innovating sounds spanning the late 60s and the early 70s – Wednesday March 9th. Dan’s pick of the week: Magma (Mëkanïk Dëstruktïw Kommandöh), Henry Cow (In Praise of Learning), Gong (Flying Teapot: Radio Gnome Invisible, Part 1), Art Zoyd (Musique Pour L’odyssée), Heldon (Heldon IV – Agneta Nilsson) & Étron Fou Leloublan (En Public Aux États-Unis D’Amérique).

Magma is een Franse progressieve-rockband die in 1969 opgericht werd door Christian Vander, drummer en zanger van de groep. Hun muziek combineert klassieke muziek, jazz en rock. Typerend zijn repititieve motieven, een Orff-achtige koor en vreemde ritmes. Het geheel is vaak symfonisch, bombastisch en minimalistisch tegelijkertijd.
