ARMAND

THE SUBTERRANEANS: Down To Earth
The Subterraneans (NL) were a blues / folk duo consisting of former Kick members John Bakker (Sleepy John Baker) and Henk Jantse (Downy Boy Jason). On this LP, their only release, they are helped by former Kick drummer Beer Klaasse, Brian Ura, Fred Haayen and former Group 1850 member Robby De Rijke. The songs on this album: some are own compositions and some covers of songs by the likes of Bob Dylan and Sonny Terry. Source: collectorsfrenzy.com.
50 JAAR MUZE

Grace Petrie is a songwriter, activist and performer from Leicester, UK. She first exploded on to the national protest scene in 2010 with the emotive anthem Farewell to Welfare, which captured perfectly the spirit of the new wave of dissent in austerity Britain. Since then she has quietly become one of the most prolific and respected songwriters working in the UK today.

Dan Kennedy: “Poet, Singer and songwriter. I’m Irish living in London. I started singing as a child, in school/church choir. I’ve sang in Folk, Blues and Reggae bands. Now I prefer to sing solo and add my voice to the growing movement for peaceful change in our world”.

Erri De Luca
“In January, the Italian writer Erri De Luca was charged with incitement for an interview he gave in 2013 to Huffington Post Italy. De Luca stated his support for the “NoTav” movement, which for 20 years has been protesting the construction of a high-speed railway line — the TAV — between Turin, Italy, and Lyon, France. In the interview, De Luca said the TAV “should be sabotaged. Shears are useful. They are needed to cut the fences” around the building site. For his words, an Italian prosecutor sought an eight-month jail term for incitement, a criminal offense seldom used in Italy. It was written into the Criminal Law under Benito Mussolini in the 1930s and remains on the books.
Here is De Luca’s last speech in the courtroom on Oct. 19, 2015just before his sentence: http://ilmanifesto.info/the-contrary-words-of-the-writer-erri-de-luca/
A couple of hours later, the Turin judge cleared the writer of the charge.” (Source: IL MANIFESTO 10 October 2015)
