SING MY TITLE

Flemish bluesman / one-man band Tiny Legs Tim founded his own label: Sing My Title. Not one to stop halfway, he released three albums simultaneously and threw a launch party with the signed artists and guestt-friend Roland. .
Says Tiny Tim: “I released my first two albums myself, so when the third was in the can (“Steppin’ Up)”, I thought I might as well set up a real label. I discovered boogie bluesman Don Crossaint aka Little Jimmy a few years ago and I became an instant fan. When I heard that his album “Tiger Tapes” had been released on cd only years ago, I thought it deserved a vinyl reissue. Don recorded the whole album on a minidisc in a hotel room, so we remastered everything and I daresay it sounds a lot better than the original cd. As for the third release, “A Yellow Tape Recording” by Paul Couter, it was more a matter of good luck. I ran across Paul every now and then, he’s been around for decades too, and this one day he showed me a tape, saying this was the recording that made everything else he’d done obsolete. So I had a listen and I liked what I heard. That’s how “Sing My Title” kicked off with three releases”.
Don and Paul have been part of the Flemish / Belgian blues scene for decades…
Don Croissant aka Little Jimmy fronted Little Jimmy and the Sharks (who were Dutchmen of Indonesian descent), opening for The Rolling Stones in Brussels in the mid-sixties. He quit the music business for a long time, rechristened himself Don Croissant (no-one’s sure why, but he does like a joke), until the Flemish weekly “Humo” found out about him and spread his story over several pages, resulting in gigs and albums – until the present day.

Paul Couter is the second half in Tjens Couter and the C in T.C. Matic, two bands he formed with his mate Arno Hintjes. He soon left T.C. Matic, which became very successful (Arno even gained star status in Belgium and France when he went solo). Paul Couter never really left the music scene but wasn’t really part of it either. He released some solo stuff that largely went unnoticed, but considers “A Yellow Tape Recording” as the real thing.
