SPECIALS
PAUL PERSONNE
Almost unknown outside his home country, that’s France, Paul Personne has proved again and again that, yes, the French can sing the blues and that they can do so in the French language as well – with great effect. Radio 68 chose tracks from “Puzzle 14é (2014) and the magnificent live double cd “Il était une fois sur la route”.

RAY PHILLIPS (The Nashville Teens, The British Invasion All Stars)
Ray was a founder member and lead singer of the Nashville Teens in 1962. They had a huge hit with Tobacco Road and a minor one with Google Eye. In 1990 Ray Phillips recorded a CD called “Regression” with The British Invasion All-Stars. In addition to Ray these were Jim McCarty of The Yardbirds, Eddie Phillips (no relation) of The Creation, and Don Craine and Keith Grant of The Downliners Sect. A year later, they released a second album (“United”) with the same personnel, plus guests Dick Taylor, Mick Green and Phil May. A compilation of both cds is available; contact Don via http://www.downlinersect.com

TALES FROM THE WOODS
Tales From the Woods call themselves a MAGAZINE and a ROOTS MUSIC NETWORKING GROUP. They have a website, issue a magazine, broadcast their own show on Radio Sutch, get together regularly as a band of mates and… organize gigs. The next main gig as at The Borderline, London, on Sunday 31 January and features several acts that ARE STILL GOING STRONG: P.P. Arnold, Dave Berry, Cliff Bennett, Ray Phillips (see also under Ray Phillips) and Wee Willie Harris RADIO 68 PLAYS STUFF by Dave Berry, P.P. Arnold, Cliff Bennett (solo and with his Rebel Rousers and Ray Phillips (see also Ray Phillips).
LOUIS CENNAMO
Louis David Cennamo (born 5 March 1946) was bass guitarist with an early line up of HE HERD (pre-Frampton), the original line-up of RENAISSANCE (with Keith Relf), and two bands that developed from Renaissance – ARMAGEDDON and ILLUSION. He also played bass with COLOSSEUM (Daughter Of Time) and heavy rockers JODY GRIND, not to mention the numerous albums he played on, such as the first album by JAMES TAYLOR (Apple protégé) or AL STEWART’s Zero She Flies. Throughout, there is a connection with the Relfs (Keith and Jane) and that other Yardbird – drummer, singer and composer Jim McCarty. More recently, Cennamo is active in jazz bands and also performs poetry.
RADIO 68 PLAYS songs featuring Louis Cennamo on bass (of course) in both the sixties and blues section: The Herd, Jody Grind, Al Stewart, Colosseum, James Stewart and Renaissance
