BETHO IEESUS

“Blues Buddies, this is my new CD to be launched in 2019. For those of you who aren’t yet acquainted with me, I am a bluesman, music producer, guitarist, singer, composer and writer, who was born in São Paulo – Brazil -, a multifaceted cosmopolitan city that takes after the Blues with its multiculturalism based on African and European roots. After studying and graduating under the grand spanish guitar master Henrique Pinto, I began working as a music producer at my studio – Sun Trip Estúdios   – for many years ago, where I have conducted projects for Mariah Carey and Jimmy Cliff, among others.
I am also the writer of diverse books: notably A Casa de Vidro (The House of Glass), a book of poetry celebrated by various members of the Brazilian Academy of Letters and the São Paulo Academy of Literature; as well as O Incansável Paulo de Tarso (The Relentless Paulo de Tarso), a history book; and Nove Papas Contra a Destruição do Mundo (Nine Popes Against the Destruction of the World), a collection of stories, of which the latter two are hailed by Pope Francisco in a letter addressed to me. There are another 3 books awaiting publication.
Despite many gifts, I am just a bluesman attuned by the traditional Blues crafted from the 1930s to the 1970s, who enthusiastically presents you with his new work after the warm reception of his last CD – Pretty Woman Blues -, being played abroad on practically all the niche radio stations playing Blues around the planet.
Here, we have 10 tracks loaded with instrumentals along with plain and simple lyrics – 7 in English and 3 in Portuguese – in the Blues tradition, topped off by a very Brazilian Bossa Nova track Sozinho (Alone) in the spirit of Blues and inspired by 1950s style jazz.
