Nuova Era werd in 1985 in Florence opgericht door toetsenist en componist Walter Pini. De historische line-up bestond uit Gianluca Lavacchi op drums, Enrico Giordani op bas, Alex Camaiti op gitaar en zang. De teksten waren van Ivan Pini.

With 7 albums to their credit they have confirmed themselves over the years as one of the best Italian Progressive Rock bands in terms of quality and execution of compositions.
