Renaissance is een Engelse progressieve rockband. De groep werd in 1969 opgericht door Keith Relf en Jim McCarty, beiden ex-Yardbirds. in de loop van 1970 hadden alle oorspronkelijke leden de band verlaten en waren ze vervangen door nieuwe leden. Michael Dunford werd gevraagd de muziek te schrijven en Annie Haslam deed de zang. John Tout nam de piano en overige toetsen voor zijn rekening. Als bassist werd Jon Camp aangenomen en op de drums Terence Sullivan. In deze samenstelling zou Renaissance het meest succesvol worden en ruim 10 jaar bestaan.… Read more...

Psychedelic, heavy, prog and more innovating sounds spanning the late 60s and the early 70s – Dan’s pick of the week: Tangerine Dream (Phaedra), Harmonia (Deluxe), Heldon (Interface), Synergy (Sequencer), Popol Vuh (In Den Gärten Pharaos) & Michael Stearns (Ancient Leaves).

Tangerine Dream is een Berlijnse elektronische muziekgroep, opgericht door Edgar Froese in 1967. De band is een van de pioniers in het elektronische genre. Aanvankelijk speelden zij avant-garde-rock, maar vanaf 1972 keerden zij de conventionele instrumenten de rug toe en speelden ze uitsluitend met elektronische instrumenten.

Psychedelic, heavy, prog and more innovating sounds spanning the late 60s and the early 70s – Dan’s pick of the week: Rush (Hemispheres), Journey (Journey), Boston (Don’t Look Back), Junipher Greene (Friendship) & Wishbone Ash (Live Dates).

Rush was een Canadese progressieve rockband, opgericht in 1968. Van 1974 tot het einde van de band in 2015 bestond de bezetting uit Geddy Lee (zang, bas en toetsen), Alex Lifeson (gitaar, zang) en Neil Peart (drums).
