Eloy is een Duitse rockband, de stijl van de groep omvat spacerock en progressieve rock. De naam van de band komt van een fictief ras met de naam Eloi uit de klassieker De Tijdmachine van H. G. Wells. De groep werd in 1969 door gitarist Frank Bornemann opgericht, hij zou doorheen de talloze veranderingen in bezetting het enige vaste lid blijven. (Wiki)

Art Rock Show – The Samurai Of Prog – A Quiet Town (Week 27)

Het multinationale ensemble The Samurai of Prog werd opgericht als een project onder leiding van de in Finland gevestigde Italiaanse componist en bassist Marco Bernard. Hij is sinds 1995 actief in de Finse Association for Progressive Music.

Math Lemmen van Prog Wereld: “Het verhaal, de teksten, evenals de muzikale koker waarin het verhaal is gegoten, is van de hand van Marco Grieco. Vandaar de toevoeging “Featuring Marco Grieco” op de albumhoes. Dit is het derde album van The Samurai Of Prog waarop alle muziek van de hand van één componist komt. Met “A Quiet Town” heeft Marco Grieco een waar huzarenstukje verricht en zich daarmee gerevancheerd voor het tegenvallende “Anthem To The Phoenix Star”.
