Cautiously I want to say that this sounds like it could have appeared after “Myths and Legends”, but that would be minimizing the impact of the last 30 years of prog revival. Art Rock Show – Dwellers of the Deep (Week 46)

We stellen deze week de nieuwe plaat van Wobbler aan u voor. Wobbler is een Noorse progressieve-rockband, die in 1999 werd opgericht. En de Noormannen van Wobbler laten zich heel erg inspireren door de seventies prog. Vooral Yes is een grote invloed.

Maarten Goossensen van Prog Wereld: “Dit album, met slechts vier tracks, is het vijfde studioalbum in 15 jaar tijd. Dit vijftal maakt retroprog die in het straatje ligt van Anglagard, Perfect Beings, King Crimson, Anekdoten en vooral dus heel erg veel Yes. Het gitaarwerk doet veelvuldig aan dat van Steve Howe denken en het geweldige basspel brengt veelvuldig de naam Chris Squire in gedachten. Andreas Wettergreen Strømman Prestmo maakt het plaatje compleet doordat zijn zangstem doet denken aan die van Jon Anderson.… Read more...
