Popol Vuh is een van de eerste Duitse Krautrock bands, die zich toelegde op elektronische- en wereldmuziek. In tegenstelling tot de vorige albums, verlaat de groep hier grotendeels de elektronische synthesizergeluiden en is het album opgebouwd rond akoestische instrumenten. Muzikaal slaat het album een brug tussen Westerse religieuze muziek en Oosterse meditatiemuziek, zoals de titel van het album ook suggereert.

Art Rock Show – Muzekot (Seventies) Special

De show draait volledig rond de Muzekot “sound”. Veel “Classic Rock” met uitstapjes naar andere genres. Periode van 1970 tot 1979. Gemiddelde duur is een elpee kant, pakweg twintig tot dertig minuten. In ‘t Muzekot stond een eenvoudige platenspeler waar de man/vrouw achter de bar bepaalde wat er gespeeld werd. Soms werden er ook al eens een of meerdere nummers overgeslagen. Al dan niet op vraag van het aanwezige publiek. Bekende en minder bekende muzikanten paseren de revue.

Playlist: Nina Simone, Pink Floyd, Spooky Tooth, Roxy Music, Cat Stevens, George Harrison, Lou Reed, Kevin Coyne, The Doors, Jethro Tull, Ramones, Joy Division etc. Veel muziek en hopelijk veel luisterplezier!
