Art Rock Show – Dreaming City (Week 21)

Deze week stellen we de Amerikaanse band Glass Hammer aan u voor. De kern wordt gevormd door Steve Babb en Fred Schendel, twee multi-instrumentalisten. Maarten Goossensen van Prog Wereld: ”

Er zijn maar weinig bands zo productief en kwalitatief hoogwaardig als het Amerikaanse Glass Hammer. In 27 jaar tijd is deze nieuwe schijf studioalbum nummer 17. De heren Fred Schendel en Steve Babb lijken een constante flow aan inspiratie te hebben. Wat de heren ook siert is dat ze zichzelf nooit herhalen. Steeds weer zoeken ze naar nieuwe invalshoeken en leggen daarbij de lat hoog voor zichzelf. Andere troef is dat ze altijd weer goede muzikanten om zich heen weten te verzamelen.

Dat element van vernieuwing wordt op dit album wel heel erg duidelijk. Zelden klonk het gezelschap zo compact, intens en stevig als op deze “Dreaming City”.… Read more...
