Oceans of Slumber is een Amerikaanse heavy metal band uit Houston, Texas en werd opgericht in 2011. De Texaanse groep staat bekend om de vele verschillende stijlen die ze mixt. Ook de inbreng van zangeres Cammie Gilbert is groot.

Joost Aarts van Zware Metalen.com: “Eigenlijk heeft Oceans of Slumber een aantal aspecten vanuit de vorige albums samengevoegd om hier iets nieuws uit te creëren. Door de warme stem van Cammie, die zich inmiddels mrs. Beverly mag noemen, blijft het geheel vertrouwd aanvoelen. De “stempel” New Southern Gothic is niet zo fors gezet als ik vreesde. Zo is er wel degelijk ruimte voor metaalachtige randjes. Dit hoor je dan met name terug in de gitaarriffs, degelijke drumescapades en de toch wel naargeestige sfeer. Daar wil ik direct aan toevoegen dat het over de gehele linie een stuk ingetogener klinkt dan het voorgaande album.… Read more...
