Art Rock Show – Virus (Week 35)

Het Britse zestal van Haken heeft zich in ruim tien jaar opgewerkt tot één van de voornaamste bands binnen de progressieve metalwereld. Inmiddels zijn de heren musici aanbeland bij de 6de album.

Review van Metalfan.nl: “Wat voor verrassingen heeft de Engelse progformatie in petto? Niet veel, al zit je met name tijdens het uitdagende, meer dan tien minuten durende Carousel op het puntje van je stoel. Buitengewoon knap hoe de heren daarin de rode draad weten te bewaken met zoveel transities. Het gaat van prog metal naar jazz en van groovy headbangriffs naar kalme, melodieuze secties. Bovendien hoogstaand hoe ze met complex spel toch toegankelijk kunnen klinken. Het getuigt van zowel muzikaal vakmanschap als uitstekende kwaliteiten op het gebied van songwriting.
