Art Rock Show – Aphelion (Week 42)

Deze week stellen we de Noorse progressieve-metalband Leprous aan u voor. De groep werd opgericht door zanger en toetsenist Einar Solberg en gitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke. In 2009 brachten ze hun eerste studioalbum uit, Tall Poppy Syndrome.

Marco Paasman van Zware Metalen: “Het aphelium is het punt in de baan van een object om de zon dat het verst van de zon is gelegen. Voor Einar Solberg is het een metafoor voor de grote uitdagingen waarmee hij te maken heeft en hoe iets moois kan ontstaan uit moeilijke tijden. Op Leprous‘ vorige album Pitfalls stonden de teksten in het teken van de angststoornis en depressies waarmee Solberg al enige jaren kampte. Catapilla was een Engelse progressieve rockband die actief was in het begin van de jaren 1970. Ze brachten twee albums uit op het grote platenlabel Vertigo Records.
