Art Rock Show – Aura (Week 26)

Deze week stellen we IO Earth, een band onder leiding van Dave Cureton en Adam Gough uit Birmingham (VK) aan u voor. De groep bestaat al heel lang en wordt beschouwd als een onmisbaar onderdeel van de progressieve rockscene. Tot op heden hebben ze vier studio-albums geproduceerd. Fred Nieuwesteeg van Prog Wereld: “Het is een uitdaging en best knap als een band die een succesformule heeft gevonden het roer in één keer radicaal omgooit. En dat is wat de heren Dave Cureton (gitaar) en Adam Gough (toetsen), de geestelijke vaders van IO Earth, op “Aura” gedaan hebben. Weg zijn de bombast, de metal-invloeden en de orkestrale uitspattingen, verdwenen zijn de snijdende gitaarsolo’s en de talloze muzikale wendingen en veelheid aan stijlen.
